A Discovery Twenty Years in the Making

In the early 2000s, scientists at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine made a surprising discovery: after injury, cells dramatically increase production of an enzyme called FL2, which disrupts the very structures they need to move and repair tissue – microtubules. Instead of activating healing following trauma, the body was inadvertently limiting it.

This insight sparked two decades of investigation led by our CEO and Chief Science Officer, Dr. David Sharp — research that ultimately revealed a new biological path to regeneration.

The question was simple but groundbreaking:

What if healing didn’t require adding growth factors, stem cells, or permanent genetic modification? What if we could remove the molecular brake that prevents cells from repairing themselves?

MicroCures was built to turn that possibility into reality. Today, the company is translating foundational science into a platform of localized, temporary siRNA therapeutics designed to restore natural repair across multiple tissues.
